Why We're Building This
Every engineer has been paged at 3 AM. The experience should be fast, reliable, and frictionless. But the dominant tools in this space are being end-of-lifed by their acquirers, have stagnant feature sets, and charge $25+/user/month for functionality that hasn't meaningfully improved in years.
We saw teams stuck between overpaying for legacy tools they resented and risking their production reliability on half-baked alternatives. There was no option that was compatible with what they already used AND better at the same time.
Our Approach
OpsPing is built on three convictions:
- Migration should be painless. We're API-compatible with OpsGenie's v2 REST API. Changing your base URL is the only change most teams need to make. No rewriting alert rules, no reformatting payloads, no retraining the team.
- On-call UX should be boringly familiar. The app looks and works like the tools engineers have spent years building muscle memory for. Dark theme by default. One-tap acknowledge. Information density over whitespace. Speed over animations.
- Price should reflect value, not lock-in. Push notifications are free forever (push delivery costs us fractions of a cent, so we don't meter it). No per-message SMS fees unless you opt in. Plans start at $8/user/month — 70% less than the legacy alternative.
Built for Engineers
We're a small team of engineers who've been on call ourselves. We're building this in the open — you can see our changelog for updates, read our security practices, see where we stand on SOC 2, and read our pledge on why OpsPing can't be sunset the way the incumbents were. No black box. No "request a demo to see pricing." Just a solid on-call tool built by and for engineers.
